While at Sawbill I relished in the quiet house, windy dunes, and local creative circles. I hosted a Passover seder with new friends early in my first week, creating some quick connections and community. I spent lots of time in the WUWU LPFM trailer, at the Oliver Arts Center in Frankfort, was introduced to a biochar burn, and discovered a weekly sauna x potluck every Friday on Crystal Lake. I spent much of my time at Sawbill working on my textile animations, doing conceptual grounding for my practice, creating Strava "weavings" in the park, and sewing scrap fabric rabbits.

Charlie Dov Schön is a textile and sculpture artist creating and performing contemporary ritual objects. Her work includes soft sculpture, machine knitting, GIS datasets, and Judaica forms. She is interested in spiritual objects operating as data collectors and scientific practice operating as prayer.
